When my husband and I plan a night out, we don’t settle for just an entree... we want a full-blown flavor experience. There are so many little gems all over the Inland Northwest that get ignored, and it’s nothing short of a tragedy. Why not do a progressive dinner with food from some of the coolest hotspots in town? By doing a little careful planning, you can have all of the magic and romance your little heart can handle. Mix and match these amazing options, from romantic restaurants to fun date night restaurants and everything in between, for a really noteworthy night on the town.
This is one of those questions that I get asked at least 10 times a day, so be sure to bookmark this article or even print it out to use it as a checklist. You'll be sure to use it again and again.
Romantic Restaurants in Spokane: Fancy Dinner Plans for Two
A luxurious and romantic dinner for two may be just what the doctor ordered, and if that's the case, I know just where you should keep your eyes peeled for an experience to remember. For to-go dining for a romantic meal at your own dining room table, or a picnic under the Pavillion, at Manito Park or anywhere you want to relax in the sunshine or under the stars, these are your best bets to get a dreamy vibe.

Park Lodge is our go-to spot for an expertly made, beautifully served meal in a warm, welcoming environment with a gorgeous view. Park Lodge is a multiple Spokane Guild award-winning restaurant perched atop the edge of the valley at the west end of Kendall Yards, and it’s probably the best-kept secret in Spokane food right now. While working at a 2 Michelin Star restaurant in Paris, the culture in France was deeply inspiring to Chef Philip, where the ingredients were the star, and the culture surrounding food focused on sustainability and respect. It features menu items such as roast duck breast, which always has a slight variation in how it’s presented, but it is without exception prepared beautifully with juicy flesh and crisp, flavorful skin. I am also a huge fan of the airline chicken breast which sounds a little pedantic, but their expression of it is anything but. Mouthwateringly rich jus drizzled over the dish which is served atop light as air whipped potatoes and caramelized mushrooms… it is something you have to taste to understand. You can truly close your eyes and point to any dish on the menu and have a delightful experience with in-season, local ingredients worked by the hands of masters of their craft.

If feeling extra fancy is your style, then Inland Pacific Kitchen is your go-to stop for elevated takeout that is one of the best-kept secrets in Spokane. This place is hidden away in the Washington Cracker Building, and worth the hunt for the subtly marked door. Chef Austin Conklin is the recipient of the Rising Star Chef award from the Guild, and his deft hand with picking ingredients straight from local farms as well as using funky and inspiring flavor combinations will have you swooning. Every time I have the pleasure of dining here the menu is vastly different, and I love that. Chef Conklin's impressive range and creativity will keep you on your toes in the best way. I often find myself thinking about the dishes he creates long after I enjoy them. They also have the most luxurious brunch in the city on Sundays by reservation only. I can't get enough. I was an instant fan when I was able to start my brunch with champagne, caviar and oysters (and at a very reasonable price). Be sure to enjoy a craft cocktail anytime you visit - Chad will charm the one you love with some mixology magic.
Luna is another Guild Award-winning romantic restaurant in Spokane with a to-go program that is on point. Their expertly prepared dishes by Executive Chef Joe Morris have the subtly nuanced flavor that has a wide appeal with their incredibly loyal clientele. I'm a big fan of their new salmon dish pictured below served with rainbow carrots, pea purée, roasted potatoes, and pea shoot salad. Whether you pick sitting the beautifully appointed interior, or out on the legendary patio, the ambiance is the most luxurious in the city by far. The bar features spectacular craft cocktails by award-winning mixologist Cody Winfrey that cannot be missed. They also have absolutely fabulous pizza which is super underrated. Bonus points if you go for a stroll in Manito Park before or after your meal.

Gander and Ryegrass is one of the best restaurants in the city and is another Guild Award-winner that you don't want to miss. The menu is always changing, and for good reason. They only use the freshest and best ingredients that you can source, and the culinary team here is nothing short of inspired when it comes to flavor combinations. They pride themselves on exceptional customer service, thoughtfully paired wines and cocktails, and Chef Peter Froese will knock you out with his fine-dining chops. This is a place to truly dazzle your date. Be certain you get reservations in advance because this exclusive spot can only seat so many people per night. It's really easy to book online through Open Table!

Wiley's Downtown Bistro never fails to romance its diners, and the Beef Wileyton is no exception. Crisp pastry surrounds a perfectly cooked filet of beef, drizzled in a peppercorn demi-glace that makes the whole dish sing. If you have the opportunity to get this particular dish there, it's well worth checking out. I also love their halibut en papillote when it's on the menu. It has fresh halibut steamed in lemon and herbs in a parchment paper packet - a classic preparation with a lovely tender texture. Also of note - their team is dedicated to being very accommodating for anyone with a special diet. Simply notify them of any allergies or restrictions and they will make sure your dinner is safe and delicious. What's more romantic than taking care of your loved ones by taking them to one of the most accommodating restaurants in Spokane?

Italia Trattoria is the quintessential romantic Italian restaurant and has some of the best food in Spokane. James Beard-nominated Chef Anna Vogel makes handmade pasta that would make any nonna proud. The dishes featured here are filled with unique and exciting options that are seasonally inspired. I am particularly a fan of their lamb ragu pappardelle - I rarely deviate from this beautifully executed classic. Handmade noodles and a sauce I consistently wish I had the recipe for because it is the perfect balance of rich acidity of the tomato flavor, and the earthy wildness of the lamb. The tiramisu is the very best I've had in the city, too. Be sure to make reservations well in advance because they are ultra-popular amongst their die-hard fans. It is located in historic Browne's Addition and would make a great spot to take a walk after dinner and admire the century-old, beautifully designed homes from Spokane's wealthiest early inhabitants. It would also be a great destination after a trip to the Museum of Arts and Culture with its dynamic rotating exhibits.

Umi Sushi is a beautifully designed and hip destination in the heart of Kendall Yards that is a must-visit if you're as in love with Japanese food as I am. With dozens of specialties that reach far beyond just sushi on the menu, and a really cool bar downstairs, you're sure to find something for everyone in your group (even "that guy" who doesn't like seafood!). Trust their chef with an "omakase" style menu experience, or order something on its own. All of their fish is brought in fresh from the coast often, so the fish quality is going to be top-notch.

Wild Sage Bistro is another Guild Award-winning spot that is famous for its romantic atmosphere, creative cocktails, and killer food. We simply can't get enough of this spot. The Smoke and Mirrors cocktail is one of my top picks in Spokane - the savory red pepper libation is nothing like what you'll find anywhere else. Pictured below is the Alaskan Halibut Rissoles - a new spring menu item has been extremely popular the last week! It is served with Asian slaw, watermelon radishes, curry aioli and tropical fruit salsa. Also recommended is the coconut cake - we always bring home a slice to eat after we have had our dinner settle a bit (especially after eating roughly half our weight in the complimentary gougeres). Word to the wise - parking can be tough here so make sure to arrive early to find a spot nearby. You will also want to snag a reservation in advance for this one.
